During the weekend of 2 and 3 May, Baarle will be the scene of the Borderless Art Route. More than 35 artists will display their work at over 15 locations ranging from churches, cultural centres, to artists' home studios. Visitors can enjoy painting, sculpture, ceramics, photography, textile art and stained glass from 12 noon to 5pm on both days.

In 2012, a pair of storks settled in the Markdal. This was very special, as no breeding pairs had ever been spotted in de Baronie before then. Since 2017, the birds have also been popping up in other places in the region. In 2025, there were 9 nests and 21 young were raised. |

The walk takes you past the Ossengoor, which was once used as a meadow, but is now flooded again. Opposite the Ossengoor is a drowned forest, created by humidification of this plot. The walk continues along the historic Geuzen path, about which the guides will tell more. |

Gorp de Leij is an area on the heavily meandering Rovertsche Leij. Along the stream are a number of hidden forest meadows that were already used for agriculture in the Middle Ages, using sod from the heath as manure.

On 30 May from 3 pm, Heemkundekring Amalia van Solms is organising a playful walk with 'pastor Van Herdegom'. We will return to the second half of the 17th century. |

The area consists of small-scale natural and cultural landscape. Fields and woods alternate with pools, brambles and wooded banks, meadows and wet meadows. Fields do remain. Fortunately, clean seepage water still rises in some places. Deep seepage water is rich in lime, iron and other minerals.
