IVN sensory walk Seterse Bergen, Oosterhout
On Sunday 10 May, the guides of IVN Mark and Donge will appeal to all your senses to feel and experience nature.
When we go into nature, we like to feast our eyes, but how do we experience the environment when we close those eyes for once? What do we hear? What do we smell? What do our hands tell us about the trees around us? What do our feet tell us about the soil we walk on? What is there to taste in the forest?
During this walk, we give the eyes a rest and put the other senses to work. This allows us to connect with nature in a completely different way. Our guides are experienced in guiding people with visual impairments and therefore this walk is also suitable for them. Sighted and visually impaired people meet and go out together to taste nature. Participants who need assistance do need to provide their own buddy.
The Seterse Bergen are part of forestry park Dorst and consist of a relatively young mixed forest, about 60 years old. About 10 years ago, a 15-hectare area was excavated to give good opportunities for the development of heathland. The excavated area should return to rugged, wild nature: lots of sand with hills, scanty soil and heathland. The area is "strongly" hilly: the altitude is between 5 and 15 m above NAP.
Registration is possible until the day of the walk. After registration, you will receive information about the departure point.
The walk starts at 13:30 and lasts until about 15:30.
