Irish pub & eetcafé The Banner

Our entrepreneurs provide the goodness of Brabant. We introduce them to you. We ask them what they have to offer and what Toerisme De Baronie means to them. Read the interview with Loes and Gerard de Vaan of Irish Pub & Eetcafé The Banner in Gilze below.

What's on offer at Irish Pub & Eetcafé The Banner?
Our Irish pub is open Wednesday to Sunday. The eetcafé is open from Thursday to Sunday. We are a cosy1st pub, an informal eetcafé with a nice menu. Good food out doesn't have to be expensive. We offer many different special beers. We have high beer and high wine and a cosy outdoor terrace. People can play darts and billiards with us.

What is different at your place from the competition?
At The Banner there is a nice mix of all ages, for young and old. The youngest billiard player is 14 and the oldest 78 and it's nice to see that this goes well together. Another special feature is that we also organise many events: Tour d'Omelette, an old-timer day, Oktoberfest, a winter garden around the Christmas period, Carnival, King's Day/Night and the prize-giving ceremony of the Gilse village quiz.

What is Toerisme De Baronie to you?
Going somewhere on the off chance and unexpectedly coming across something really nice.

What kind of Toerisme De Baronie feeling do you want to give visitors?
That you're always welcome and that it doesn't matter where you're from, what you're wearing. Anyone can drop in for a cosy drink or a bite to eat.
