The Liberation Route lets you experience what happened in 1944 and 1945 in North Brabant, around Arnhem and Nijmegen and on the Veluwe. The routes in the Netherlands are part of Liberation Route Europe, which is constantly expanding. This international route links the most important regions during the Western Allied advance from southern England to the beaches of Normandy, the Belgian Ardennes, south-eastern provinces of the Netherlands, the Hürtgen Forest and Berlin.
Listening sites
Seventy-five locations in the Netherlands are covered with field boulders, the so-called listening spots. At each listening spot, you can listen to a radio play about the impressive experiences of one or more people in the years 1944-1945.
