Polish liberation route

The name Polish Liberation Route refers to the fact that Gilze-Rijen, Alphen and Riel were liberated by the Poles in World War II. Here, you cycle past large fields of cut maize and intensive livestock farming on one side, while in the south-western part of the route you ride through coniferous forests. These are the forests of Chaam and Alphen.
