On Monday 28 October, Toerisme De Baronie and Koninklijke Horeca Nederland organised a lecture on hospitality. We were guests at Smaak Lokaal in Rijen. A mixed gathering of over 60 entrepreneurs, all active in the leisure economy.
Theo Donkers, board member of Toerisme De Baronie, opened the meeting with a word of welcome to all concerned entrepreneurs from the region. Then it was up to Wouter Verkerk, who put the audience on edge with challenging questions and sharp statements. With over two hundred presentations and workshops a year, this much sought-after hospitality trainer is the Netherlands' most sought-after speaker in the field of hospitality and hospitality. He stressed the importance of providing service to guests and that this will become increasingly important in the future, substantiating this with many practical examples. In an original, sometimes hilarious way, Wouter shook up his audience and gave practical tips.
At the end of the presentation, Wouter handed out some of his books with stimulating columns, practical tools and eye-openers. Merel Reijers, regional manager of Koninklijke Horeca Nederland, thanked Wouter Verkerk for his instructive lecture. Afterwards, the members had a nice chat over drinks and snacks. This 'third half' is an essential part of evenings like this. "Connecting" is, after all, one of the spearheads of Toerisme De Baronie.
We therefore look back on a well-attended and inspiring evening and we thank Rob Marcelissen and his wife Anielka Menner for their hospitality in the wonderful ambiance of Smaak Lokaal.
