
To further professionalise marketing and communication, we are working on the following: improving website findability, social media campaign, mini brochure and promotional film. As described in the previous newsletter, the focus this year is on increasing brand awareness and loading the image of Toerisme De Baronie.
We would like to convey this experience in our communication, focusing on increasing brand awareness and loading the image of Toerisme De Baronie. As long as our target group does not know Toerisme De Baronie, or know of its existence, they will not know how to find us. The bulk of our target group consists of recreational visitors who come to spend a day or weekend cycling or walking in our region.
We want to achieve this mainly through social media, such as Facebook and Instagram. Through posts, advertisements, videos, blogs and vlogs, we try to get the widest possible reach among the target audience.
To ensure that our website (www.grenslanddebaronie.nl/en) is better found, we are investing in GoogleAdWords. The member pages will also be redesigned to allow more room for a personal touch.
Facebook is now mainly used as an extension of the events calendar, while Facebook offers many more possibilities. The common thread of the online campaign is the Toerisme De Baronie experience; the small pleasures. We always portray this experience, through beautiful photos, video productions, supported by a powerful message.
The intention is to make a number of short video clips of max 30 seconds (teasers), which will be posted on Facebook as well as on the website. The visitor will be stimulated to click further, to find out more about Toerisme De Baronie, making it clear what Toerisme De Baronie entails and what it stands for. With the ultimate goal that they come here for a day of cycling or book a multi-day stay. Besides the regular (non-paid) Facebook posts, we will also advertise on Facebook. You can then reach certain target groups in a targeted way. Instagram will also be used as a communication channel.
Each month we focus the Toerisme De Baronie message on an appropriate theme.
June: cycling
We extend the national theme 'May cycling month' into June. All promotion then has a direct or indirect link to cycling. Think of beautiful cycling routes, bike rental, arrangements, events, etc. And the pleasant and free feeling of cycling through nature, with the wind in your hair and the sun on your face.
July: conviviality
With the start of the summer holidays in July, a cosy time begins. There is plenty to do: fairs, performances and events, such as the Anna festivities in Molenschot, Acht van Chaam and the Tilburg fair.
August: good food and drink
Brabant is all about 'We Are Food' this year. Ten Brabant cuisines will be given the stage this year, including those of the municipality of Alphen-Chaam. Toerisme De Baronie connects to this with regional dishes, fair food, fairs, farmers' days, packages, etc. There have already been some food and drink activities in recent weeks. In Alphen, the walking and cycling route We Are Food Alphen was organised on 19 May; one of the participants was Landgoed de Hoevens. On Whit Monday, 'Verrassend Dongen' zoomed in on food and drink, museum de Looierij participated then. And this Sunday (27 May) you could cycle or walk the We Are Food Chaam route, farm terrace Toontje Schoen was one of the participants then.
September: nature
In September, the month of harvest, trees release their fruit and leaves slowly start to turn colour. It is also getting colder, but nature is still very much alive.
October: hiking
The forests are beautiful, multi-coloured in autumn, great for strolling through with the whole family. Along the way, enjoy mushrooms, brightly coloured leaves, chestnuts, beechnuts and other natural treasures. To finish, enjoy a nice bock beer or hot chocolate with whipped cream!
The final touches are being made to the mini brochure, which explains the Toerisme De Baronie experience and guides the reader through our region by means of various cycling and walking routes. The brochures are expected to be ready in early June. They will not be distributed door-to-door (like the magazine), but among you as members. To you then the request to distribute the brochures among your guests and thus offer them a route guide for our region as an extra service! Ultimately, the aim is to edit the short video clips, as described above, into a professional promotional film. You may use this promotional film on your own website or screens at your location. It is expected to be ready by mid-autumn 2018. As the focus is on creating an experience, it is impossible to portray all members individually. However, we will ensure that the Toerisme De Baronie area (municipality of Gilze-Rijen, Alphen-Chaam, Dorst and Riel) is presented as completely as possible.
