From the route-makers of Wandelgids Brabant
During this easy and wooded walk, you first walk through the forest of De Schootse Hoek for a while and then stroll through nature reserve Halsche Beemden through which the Merkske stream flows. You pass pretty boardwalks and cute little bridges. You walk through meadows of nature reserve Het Merkske and via a lovely tree-lined avenue you walk to Kasteel Hoogstraten. A nice footpath takes you back to the café with terrace.
Attention! After a lot of rain the area near Het Merkske can be very wet, so always wear high waterproof walking shoes. It is an adventurous path then. You can also start at the hiking car park and have a nice break at the café.
