You can park at the starting point, and there are a few places to eat and drink. This route combines a varied landscape with fascinating history. You’ll pass the Bels Lijntje, the former railway line between Turnhout and Tilburg. And you’ll be transported back to the time of the Knights Templar. Alphen was once home to the Hof ter Brake Commandery, the only Knights Templar commandery in the Netherlands. You’ll also walk across heathland, past pools and along the Ulicotense Baan – an old pilgrimage route to St Bernard’s in Ulicoten.
