Tucked away in the woods of Alphen, on the outskirts of Gilze, is recreation area 't Zand. Besides forests, you will also find grasslands, heaths and fens here. Throughout the year, 't Zand is popular for walking or cycling. In summer, you can swim in the natural lake and laze around on the sandy beach. In addition, the recreation area is regularly used for various events such as cycling, mountain bike and horse races, open-air theatre and the annual New Year's dive.
