Heemkring Molenheide is the historical society of Gilze, Rijen, Hulten and Molenschot that cherishes local heritage and propagates history with enthusiasm. Volunteers maintain archives, research ancestors, monitor the dialect, write books and publish a newsletter and quarterly magazine De Mulder. They set up exhibitions and organise lectures and excursions; they work weekly in the botanical garden and restore old tools and materials. Digitally, they know how to make local history even more accessible. At www.heemkringmolenheide.nl, they show thousands of photos, mortuary cards and documents and many videos and stories in time machine, wiki and image bank.
From September 2024, you can visit the following exhibition: liberation and reconstruction years. The exhibition is as part of the commemoration and celebration of eighty years of liberation .
Opening hours
Every first Sunday of the month from 13.30 - 16.30, except in August. Farmyard from May to September. Admission is free. Visitors with wheelchairs or rollators can enter via the side entrance. Groups can make an appointment for a visit outside opening hours by emailing: [email protected]
