As the visitor centre of the Valley of the Merkske, De Klapekster is located in the heart of UNESCO World Heritage site Wortel-Kolonie. During the weekend of 7 and 8 May, the 200th anniversary of this unique domain will be celebrated by the various partners. We with Natuurpunt Markvallei will put on our dirtiest muzzle on Sunday 8 May by letting families enjoy the outdoor fun that is our nature. In sign of the vagrants, families will go out with Zjefke the wanderer to experience nature along the iconic avenues of Carrot Colony.

Expect barefoot paths, tree climbing and camouflage among the bushes, among other things! You can digest all these wild extravagances afterwards on the terrace of visitor centre De Klapekster where the volunteers of Natuurpunt Markvallei are ready with open arms.
