Walk 'LOOIHERINNINGS'
On Monday 21 April (2nd Easter Day) from 2pm to 3pm, Museum De Tannierij is again organising a walk for individual visitors. An experienced guide will then walk past the heritage of Dongen's leather past. The walk will start at Museum De Looierij and continue through Kerkstraat, Heuvelstraat and Heuvel. Dongen was long known for leather making and its many tanneries. Many of these have now disappeared, but remarkably many are still visible in the streetscape. On this walk, you will see where leather was once made and also what happens in these buildings today. We walk past former manufacturers' villas and the small river Donge, which was indispensable for the tanneries. We walk through the oldest part of Dongen, where the village once arose and you will hear stories about the most colourful inhabitants of the past The walk starts Monday 21 April (2nd Easter Day) at 14.00 at Museum De Looierij.
You can sign up until Friday 18 April via [email protected]. The walk costs 2 euros per person.
