On Sunday 4 May, the nature guides of IVN Mark & Donge will go in search of animal tracks and the whole family is welcome.

When we go out into nature, we always hope to come face to face with a roe deer, encounter a fox on our path, see woodpeckers flying from tree to tree and squirrels jumping from branch to branch. In most cases, that doesn't happen. After all, those animals are not at all waiting to meet us. They are shy and hide until those strange people have disappeared.

Yet on a walk we can see countless things that indicate that the forest is teeming with critters. They leave their paw prints in the mud. They gnaw or nibble on pine cones, on branches and on plants to fill their stomachs. When food goes in, poo has to come out and they don't usually clean it up. Owls and other birds of prey regurgitate indigestible food particles in the form of balls. Beetles make maternity chambers under the bark of trees.

The Seterse Bergen offer a special landscape in our flat country: it is very hilly. The drifting dunes create height differences of up to 10 metres. We walk through forests and across moors. The search for animal tracks also makes this walk very interesting for children. Perhaps they find tracking even more exciting than seeing the animal.

Registration is possible until the day of the walk. After registration, you will receive information about the departure point.

The walk starts at 13:30 and lasts until about 15:30.
