The Norbertine convent of St Catherine’s Valley is one of the oldest religious communities in our country. The convent was founded in Wouw, but soon moved to Breda due to flooding in West Brabant. Its heyday in Breda came to an end with the Reformation. In 1647, the sisters moved to the small castle known as the ‘Blauwe Camer’ in Oosterhout. To this day, the Norbertine sisters reside in Oosterhout in what is also known as the Holy Triangle.

The exhibition and publication are an initiative of the Breda City Archives, the Breda Municipal Museum and the Grote Kerk Breda Foundation, and pay tribute to the Norbertine Sisters of the Priory of Sint-Catharinadal. An initiative and gift from the three municipalities: Oosterhout, Wouw (part of the municipality of Roosendaal) and Breda. The project is also supported by the Mastboom Brosens Foundation.

• Oosterhout Basilica (from 30 April to 11 September)
