Gils Wès
Gils Wès (derived from the principle streetwise), symbolises a street show during the winter months of December and January 2022 - 2023. Gils Wès provides a warm atmosphere in the dark winter months surrounding the Christmas period. So it is beautifully decorated in the village of Gilze and, of course, also in the church. All sorts of activities are organised in the spirit of the December month and, of course, everyone is welcome! Welcoming Saint Nicholas, the run-up to Christmas, New Year's Eve, New Year's Eve and Epiphany are the themes that will be discussed. Everything can be experienced in the centre of Gilze, at a village location with meaning, and is organised in cooperation with local catering entrepreneurs.
Light parade Saturday, December 10
On Saturday 10 December between 18:00 - 19:30, Exclusive Lighting will open the Gils Wès event in a spectacular way with their new laser Act "Blinding Laser". This will be followed by the light parade especially for the children, organised by the volunteer work group Kiak. This lantern parade lasts about 45 minutes. With atmospheric choral music along the way and the meeting with a Mystery Guest. Back on the square, Sports & Food Café will have another tasty surprise and the beautiful light show can be seen one more time.
December walk (3.5 km) from 10 December
Stichting Beweeglint has set out a beautiful December walk with all kinds of decorations. From 10 December, you can pick up this walking route and the puzzle walk at the Jumbo, the Plus and De Schakel in Gilze.
Gilze Christmas market Friday 17 December
Together with De Huyskamer and Gilze Onderneemt, a Christmas market has been organised. At 17.45h, the Gilze Healthcare Foundation will put the church tower in a symbolic light. Former GP Chris Starmans plays a role in this. At 18.00h, the cosy Christmas market starts on the renovated Bisschop de Vet square with atmospheric and pleasant pop-Christmas music by A-C Acoustisc Christmas. By 7pm, three tourists from the east will perform the humorous Christmas play 'On the Road to the Star of Bethlehem'. A camel from The Lodge will assist them. The play features many 'Gilse' accents and you can also encounter seven historical figures from Gilze's history. Of course not forgetting, there will also be several stalls so you can do your last Christmas shopping. Will you be there too?
Photo puzzle tour from 10 to 28 December

Dance show FSD Friday, December 30
At De Hof van Gilze, on Steenakkerplein at 4pm, you can come and watch FSD's Dance Show. The prize-giving ceremony of the photo quest will also be held then.
Musical afternoon with the Harmony on Sunday 8 January
At De Hooikar in Gilze from 1pm to 7pm, you can come and listen to the Leutefleuters, four choirs and cover band Chasse Patate. An enjoyable afternoon for young and old alike!
