IVN Nature Walk on the Oosterheide Estate
On Sunday 12 March, the nature guides of IVN Mark & Donge walk through the park-like forest of Oosterheide estate. Oosterheide estate is a former heathland area between Oosterhout and Breda. It used to be a military training area. The three hills that can still be found there today served as bullet traps. In the late nineteenth century, it was planted with forest. Seventy different tree species were used in the construction. This makes it feel like walking in a park.
The long lanes offer surprising vistas of small fields and meadows. Fens and amphibian pools attract all kinds of animals. In short, an attractive and varied landscape. Walk along and enjoy the beauty of this beautiful estate.
