Nature walk Gilzewouwerbeek
IVN nature walk Gilzewouwerbeek
We are going hiking again!
Sunday 19 September is the kick-off. The nature guides of IVN Mark & Donge will explore the meandering nature around the Gilzewouwerbeek. For some years now, the Gilzewouwerbeek has been meandering as in former times. The catchment with its newly dug meanders serves as water storage in case of flood danger, but also as a buffer to retain water in dry times. It has become a richly vegetated nature reserve with already unusual plant and animal species. Even the tree frog has already been heard and seen there.
We can choose from a 'dry footpath' over the high banks or the exciting boot path along and through the stream with 'fords', where you can wade through the stream. Do you know what a 'wouwer' is? Walk along and ask our nature guides.
Departure 1:30pm. The walk takes about 2 hours.
If you would like to join the walk, please register in advance via the website. You will then receive a confirmation e-mail containing the starting location.
