We are in the midst of the Anthropocene, a new geological epoch in which man's actions have had such an impact on the earth that all organisms are affected. Eartheatres highlights a generation of artists in whose work this premise is central. These artists reflect a worldview in which humans, nature and objects are equal. Their oeuvres are characterised by a visual language in which materiality, recycling, technology, transformation, unpredictability and fusion of the analogue and digital play a key role.

Eartheatres refers to the increasing tendency to put ourselves to and feed off the rhythms of the earth. Despite or thanks to catastrophe, unsuspected paths emerge. Resilient entities emerge from the shadows. Anthropologist Anna Tsing calls species that can grow on the most inhospitable industrial ruins "third nature". Eartheatres brings together a dozen of these young, international artists.

One of the most striking features of the Eartheatres is the way they relate to their surroundings. The sculptures are designed to blend into the natural surroundings and almost seem to merge with the trees and shrubs around them. This gives the exhibition a special, almost magical atmosphere.
