IVN nature walk Krabbebossen
On Sunday 11 January, nature guides from IVN Mark & Donge will walk through a former estate that forms a green connection with neighbouring nature reserves.
The Krabbebossen are wedged between highways and railway lines, but are very important as a link in the Nature Network Brabant. The former estate connects several nature reserves. Animals can thus move safely from one area to another. Work is ongoing to improve connections with surrounding nature areas such as Vloeiweide, Pannenhoef, Liesbos and Mastbos. In 2017, for instance, thanks to the Land Development Plan Weerijs Zuid, a 40-hectare agricultural area on the east side of the small river Aa or Weerijs came into the possession of the Brabants Landschap. It has been landscaped with pools and wooded belts with alders and pollard willows and fits in nicely with the chambered landscape on the estate.
On either side of the Aa of Weerijs, the landscape is full of variety. Forests and meadows, fens and seepage water, it's all there. Add differences in altitude and soil composition and it is clear that this is a rich plant and bird area.
Registration is possible until the day of the walk. After registration, you will receive information about the departure point.
The walk starts at 13:30 and lasts until about 15:30.
More information and the registration form can be found on the IVN Mark & Donge website under Activities.
