IVN nature walk Ulvenhoutse Bos

Sunday 24 March 2024
10:00 - 12:00
Ulvenhout Forest

On Sunday morning 24 March, the nature guides of IVN Mark & Donge walk through the Ulvenhoutse Bos.

The peculiarity of this area is that it consists of three types of forest, namely the dry beech-oak forest, the moist oak-hornbeam forest and the wet wet wet-pink forest. The large differences in the forest soil create a wide variety of growing and flowering plants and flowers.

The theme of the walk is: early spring. When the trees are still in bud, there is still so much light falling on the forest floor that various spring blooms can be found.

Because of its high natural values, such as the special spring flora, the Ulvenhoutse Voorbos has been declared a 'wet natural pearl' and Natura 2000 area. In these Natura 2000 areas, certain animals, plants and their natural habitats are protected to preserve biodiversity.

The walk starts at 10.00 am and lasts between one and a half and two hours.

If you want to join the walk, you can register via our website until the day of the walk. You will then receive a confirmation via e-mail with the starting location. More information and the registration form can be found on the website.
