IVN nature walk Plukroute Princenhage, Breda
On Sunday 7 June, the nature guides of IVN Mark & Donge will organise a walk with the theme 'taste nature' in cooperation with Plukroute Princenhage.
The Plukroute is a 3.5-kilometre walking route through neighbourhoods and parks in Princenhage. Along the route are fruit trees, shrubs and flowers with information about their names and harvest time. When it has arrived, visitors are allowed to pick. Between 2017 and April 2025, 5633 perennials, 138 trees and 3729 shrubs were planted. The promoters hope that people will become more aware of the importance and beauty of nature. The route is also designed to promote biodiversity. To help wild bees and other pollinators, various types of nectar plants grow along the Picking Route. There is a wide variety of flowers that bloom throughout the year.
INV guides take you along part of the route and give you a figurative taste of nature. They will tell you about planted trees and shrubs, but also about what occurs naturally in this area. Along the way, we meet employees of the Plukroute who will literally give you a taste of what their project yields. At the start and end of the walk, you can hear and see much more of nature in general and of this Princenhaagse initiative in particular at the stalls of the IVN and the Plukroute.
Registration is possible until the day of the walk. After registration, you will receive information about the departure point.
The walk starts at 10:00 am and lasts until about 12:00 pm.
