IVN nature walk De Worp
Monday, June 6, on Whit Monday, IVN Mark & Donge nature guides will walk along creeks and willows of De Worp. The area owes its name to fishing with "seine", weighted fishing nets, which were cast wide. From Oud Drimmelen, we follow the path along the Breede Vaart - an old peat canal with pollard willows, to the small-scale De Worp. The medieval allotment here has been preserved in some old plots. Differences in height remind us of the excavation of peat. This created creeks with banks of willow and reed beds, and marshy grounds with alder thickets. Meadows and toad pools complete the idyllic picture, an eldorado for flora and fauna. If you want to join the walk, you must register in advance via the website. You will then receive a confirmation via e-mail containing the start location. The walk starts at 13:30 and lasts one and a half to two hours.
