IVN nature walk De Broskens
On Sunday morning 27 April, IVN Mark & Donge's nature guides wander through one of Brabant's most beautiful stream valleys.
The area consists of small-scale natural and cultural landscape. Fields and woods alternate with pools, wooded banks, meadows and marshlands. Seepage water rises in some places. Deep seepage water is rich in lime, iron and other minerals. This results in unusual vegetation here and there. Bird species that have become rare elsewhere are often seen or heard here, so bring binoculars. In spring and summer, various species of dragonflies and butterflies can be seen.
The Forestry Commission has constructed a boot path across the higher parts of the Broskens between the marshes. Put on sturdy waterproof walking shoes or boots.
This walk of over 7 km takes longer than most of IVN's other nature walks. Count on 4 to 4 ½ hours and make sure you have something to eat and drink with you.
Registration is possible until the day of the walk. After registration, you will receive information about the departure point.
The walk starts at 10:00 am and lasts until around 3:00 pm.
More information and the registration form can be found on the website
