IVN Family walk Boswachterij Dorst
On Saturday morning 2 November, the nature guides of IVN Mark & Donge head into the woods in search of mushrooms and young and old may join them.
Autumn - mushroom time. Although mushrooms can be found all year round, autumn is when we see the most species. Fungi need moisture to grow: after rain, they shoot up like mushrooms. Which mushrooms we will see is a surprise, because some are only there for a few days. That is why they appeal so much to the imagination; one minute they are there and the next they are gone. They used to be associated with witches and witchcraft, as well as fairies and gnomes. Just look at names like witches' boletus and fairy bank. Come along on an exciting scavenger hunt and enjoy the magic of autumn.
Bring a small mirror to see the underside of the mushroom and with a magnifying glass an unknown world will open up for you.
Anyone wishing to become more familiar with the IVN's activities can visit the information stall half an hour before or half an hour after the walk. The stall is set up near the departure point and offers a wealth of nature finds. Nowhere can you get a closer look at bird feathers like here. Viewing boxes offer a glimpse of various biotopes.
Registration is possible until the day of the walk. After registration, you will receive information about the departure point.
The walk starts at 10:00 am and lasts about two hours.
More information and the registration form can be found on the IVN Mark & Donge website under Activities.
