IVN Bird walk Zaartpark
On Saturday morning, 28 January, IVN nature guides Mark & Donge will be looking for birds in Zaartpark. With this walk, IVN is joining in with the National Garden Bird Count, which takes place this year from 27 January to 29 January. This is not a formal count for the national campaign, but rather an exploratory walk to refresh and brush up on your bird knowledge. After all, everyone recognises the house sparrow and the blackbird, but can you tell the great tit from the blue tit?
Zaartpark is one of Breda’s most nature-rich parks. It was laid out in the 1950s and many trees from that period still stand there. Since its redevelopment in 1993, the park has been allowed to develop naturally. The park is home to many birds that we also see in residential areas and in our gardens. Don’t forget to bring your binoculars!
Practical info
If you’d like to join the walk, you’ll need to register in advance. You’ll then receive a confirmation email stating the meeting point. The walk starts at 10.00 and lasts between one and a half and two hours. You can find more information and the registration form by clicking the button below.
