Gilze Green Market
On Saturday 10 October, Bisschop de Vetplein in Gilze will be all about green, sustainable and local initiatives. From 11.00 to 16.00, everyone, young and old, is welcome at the Green Market. Under the motto ‘Working together for sustainability’, visitors can get to know local organisations, businesses and initiatives that demonstrate how we can all contribute to a sustainable and healthy living environment.
The market offers plenty of space to gather information and inspiration, share experiences and meet one another. Each participant highlights themes such as sustainable living, local food, nature, biodiversity and community in their own way.
BioBuilder from Molenschot, for example, is presenting a green housing solution for young people or parents who wish to live on a family’s property. The modular homes are constructed using bio-based materials, including wood and straw. A demonstration is on display at the Green Market, and visitors can find out all about it.
Fruitboomgaard Gilze will also be there. The orchard aims to be not just a place where fruit and vegetables are grown, but also a place where people can meet and where children can discover where their food comes from. Nature, experience and connection are at the heart of this.
At Herenboerderij Goedentijd, it’s all about producing sustainable food together. Around 250 households jointly own this small-scale cooperative farm in Alphen. Vegetables, fruit, potatoes, eggs and meat are produced there with care for the soil, the environment, the animals and the farmers.
NLGR, the Gilze and Rijen Nature and Landscape Association, is committed to increasing green spaces and biodiversity in our municipality. Trees, plants, birds and butterflies are not only important for nature, but also contribute to a healthy and pleasant living environment.
Curious? Come along, be inspired and discover what you can do yourself. Together, let’s make Gilze and Rijen greener!
