DUTCH FAST WALKING CHAMPIONSHIPS WITH INTERNATIONAL PARTICIPATION

Sunday 6 October the Dutch fast walking championships will take place in Tilburg. Also Belgian championships in Tilburg! ANDRE VAN SLOTEN World champion 20 kilometres Masters M 45 at the start in TILBURG!

6 National countries at the start! On Sunday 6 October, the walking sports associations Hart van Brabant from Tilburg and RWV from Rotterdam -which also has the athletics licence- will organise the Dutch championships fast walking: men's 35 kilometres and women's 20 kilometres in Tilburg. The race will be run on the cycling track of Wielervereniging Pijnenburg in the Reeshof . Once again, the Dutch Athletics Union has asked both associations to take on the organisation. This is already the 24th time that both associations have organised this championship in Tilburg. BELGIAN FAST WALKING CHAMPIONSHIPS. The Belgian Athletics Union has again requested, because of the perfect organisation in the Netherlands, that the Belgian 35-kilometre men's and 20-kilometre women's championships take place on this day in Tilburg. EUROPEAN TOPLOPERS ON THE START IN TILBURG Besides the Dutch and Belgians, fast walkers from: Germany, France, England and Hungary to Tilburg!

START: Sunday 6 October at 11am is the start for the 35 kilometres. Simultaneously, the 1-2-3-5 and 10-kilometre distances will also start. Participants will run on the 1564.66-metre round course. At noon, all participants will start for the 20 kilometres NETHERLANDS CHAMPION WOMEN'S 20 KILOMETER At the 20 kilometres Dutch championship women's Anne van Andel (champion 2022) is the big favourite. Last year Anne was missing from the 20 km, but then ran to a Dutch Record at the 35 km. Jacqueline van Drongelen (2023 champion) and Loes van Bremen - van den Beemt are now the main contenders for the silver and bronze. NETHERLANDS CHAMPION HENEN 35 KILOMTER In the Men's 35 km, Edwin van Wijngaarden (Hank) (2023 champion) is the defending champion and favourite in the 35 km, with Andre van Sloten -world champion Masters 45 in Sweden- and Remco de Bruin -2th at that world championship Master 60 (at the 20 and 10 km)- are now the biggest contenders for gold, silver and bronze. BELGIAN CHAMPION 20 KILOMETER WOMEN In the Belgian women's 20 km, Annelies Sarrazin is the defending champion and once again towering favourite, Liesbeth De Smet (multiple Belgian champion) is the main opposition BELGIAN CHAMPION 35 KILOMETER MEN This 35 km. championship will be a battle between Peter Van Hove last year's Belgian champion on the 35 km., and Benjamin Leroy multiple Belgian champion.

Furthermore, the Belgians, both men and women also have Belgian championships in the Masters class. ANDRE DISTANCES For the other distances (1-3-5-10 km), there are no championships but it is a competition that anyone can enter. At these distances also an International participation. For enthusiasts who do not have a competition licence, there is a possibility to participate in the performance class. 35 km. OF TILBURG For walkers and performance runners who do not have a starting licence, it is also possible to take part in the 35 km. of Tilburg. The start for this is also at 11am. One gets 4 hours 30 min. for the 35 km! If you don't, you will be classified according to the kilometres covered in the time run. Participants will also run on the round course at Pijnenburg. All participants can make use of the food and drink service on each lap. For everyone who finishes any distance, there is a diploma mentioned with distance and time.

First aid and masseurs will be present.
Time registration will take place per lap as well as at all 5 km points.
