Slow Road Day in Belgium
The working group Trage Wegen Hoogstraten together with Erfgoed Hoogstraten and Natuurpunt Markvallei are organising a beautiful walk along the old Meerselse voetweg, a slow road behind the recreation area de Mosten, on Sunday 15 October. The old Meerselseweg, as its name suggests, is the old footpath from Meer to the hamlet of Meersel, which forms one village community together with neighbouring Dreef. The dirt road stretches for several kilometres and eventually emerges opposite the Meersel-Dreef water mill. The path runs parallel to the river Mark, through an important and valuable nature reserve (VEN area).
