On his trips from Zundert to Tilburg, Vincent liked to stay here, because it is so picturesque! And of course you regularly pass one of the many Chaam streams. Historically, the Strijbeekse Heide was a place where a lot of smuggling went on, especially between the Netherlands and Belgium. Products such as butter, sugar, coffee, salt, cigarettes, and even cows were smuggled across the border at night.
