Boswachterij Dorst

Boswachterij Dorst has been transformed by the Forestry Commission into a park-like setting where you can enjoy recreation. You can wander around freely (not everywhere) and enjoy the clay pits, sand drifts and long-eared owls present in this nature reserve. The various hiking, cycling and mountain biking routes introduce you to the varied landscape.

Don't be frightened! During your walk through Boswachterij Dorst, you might just come face-to-face with a herd of Galloway cattle. They live freely in the area around Surae. This former open-air swimming pool has been given back to nature, which is allowed to grow and flourish here again. Rest assured: these cattle are gentle and quiet, but prefer not to pet them. Just enjoy how they roam freely here.

Coming by car? You can park it at three restaurants: BEUM, Natuurpoortcafé BOS & Co. or De Vijf Eiken.
