From the route-makers of Wandelgids Brabant
On this easy forest and heathland walk, you first walk through the village for a while. Then you dive into the woods and stroll for quite some time through beautiful nature with heathland and lovely ponds. At a work of art you turn back and walk back on the other side along the ponds. The last part goes along nice forest paths again. In the nature reserve there are 2 benches for a break. The route can easily be shortened at the ponds.
At the end is a nice terrace. The start and end goes through the built-up area but that is definitely made up for by the lovely catering establishment at the end. There are also nice goodies for sale.
Smaak Lokaal is a trendy business in the centre of Rijen. The name refers to the multiple "premises" in which they welcome visitors, but also to the local partners they work with. They have the new trend in lunch. You can put together your own lunch to taste a bit of everything. Of course, you can also order a delicious sandwich, salad, sandwich or bouncer.
