Den Heuvel is centrally located on the Binckplein in Alphen, surrounded by cosy terraces and restaurants. It functions as a cultural centre within the municipality of Alphen-Chaam. Associations, foundations, companies and private persons alike can come to this meeting place for a wide variety of occasions. These include meetings, performances, rehearsals, gatherings, seminars and much more.

In spring 2014, the building was completely renovated and remodelled both on the inside and outside. Following this renovation, Streektheater Den Heuvel was also created where lovers of cabaret, music and theatre can enjoy entertaining performances and entertaining evenings.
